Licensing¶
libCalibGeom uses signed organization license certificates issued by Calib.io. It does not use Calib GEOM account sign-in, browser approval, refresh sessions, or periodic calls to the licensing service.
Certificate model¶
A certificate grants an organization access to a libCalibGeom major version under a specified license tier. The signed certificate contains the product, major version, licensed organization and user, certificate identifier, issue date, and optional expiry. libCalibGeom verifies the signature, product, major version, certificate format, and expiry locally.
Because validation is offline, deployed applications do not need network access to the Calib.io licensing service. A certificate for another product or major version, an expired certificate, or a modified certificate is rejected.
Validating at startup¶
Validate the certificate before calling any other libCalibGeom API. In C++, pass it directly:
const std::string certificate = loadLicenseCertificate();
if (!libCalibGeom::validateLicenseWithCertificate(certificate)) {
return EXIT_FAILURE;
}
Alternatively, set LIBCALIBGEOM_LICENSE_CERTIFICATE and call the overload without
an argument:
export LIBCALIBGEOM_LICENSE_CERTIFICATE='lcf2.organization.payload.signature'
if (!libCalibGeom::validateLicenseWithCertificate()) {
return EXIT_FAILURE;
}
The Python and Rust wrappers expose equivalent certificate and environment validation functions. Validation is cached for the lifetime of the process after it succeeds.
Deploying certificates¶
A certificate may be supplied through secure deployment configuration or embedded in a compiled application when appropriate for the deployment model. Do not publish certificates in source repositories, documentation, logs, or other material available outside the licensed organization. Environment variables are convenient for development and managed deployments but should be provided through the platform's secret-management mechanism.
Contact your organization owner or Calib.io support to obtain or replace a certificate. License scope, distribution rights, and other legal terms are defined by the libCalibGeom EULA.
